"The restaurant had a real family owned feel. The owner was so kind and attentive and gave great recommendations. My girlfriend and I got the fresh figs with Jamon and seafood paella and it was all exceptional. Bottle of wine was great too for a great price. Close to the square but authentic and homestyle. Great prices!"

"An excellent meal - really good, solid, local cooking with the best pil-pil experienced so far in Marbella. Highlights; the vegetarian paella and the Iberian pork with sherry sauce - magnificent! Very good Ribera by the glass as well if you like a decent red with lunch. Made a lovely little filet steak for one of my kids too - friendly and charming. Nice spot in the old town - solid Spanish cooking."

"We visited Restaurant El Cortijo in Marbella one evening while craving paella, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. We were sitting outside, but it was very comfortable thanks to the outdoor heaters, which kept the area nicely warm. The seafood paella was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. A real highlight of the meal was the artichokes, which were honestly the most delicious we’ve ever had. Everything about the experience was perfect, from the food to the warm, very kind and attentive service. A wonderful evening and a restaurant we would happily return to."

"El Cortijo & El Cortijo de la Plaza is the same restaurant! We have been in the El Cortijo the la Plaza and was lovely! It’s in a bit busy corner so you can enjoy the people walking around the streets. We usually like to have smaller bites instead of big meals and this was just perfect because despite they’re do not serve tapas they do half portions of Spanish starters which was exactly what we were looking! Perfect! We didn’t ordered a paella but next door table was looking amazing! Really pleased with our experience!"

"Beautiful restaurant, the most authentic atmosphere. Honestly it’s better to sit in than out! Starters were delicious! We came here for the famous paella, it was delicious but there is definitely better in Marbella. The rice was quite hard and I missed having the option of a mixed paella (including meat and fish and prawns and peas etc) Nonetheless I think it’s worth going as the food is delicious and the interior is divine."
